Abstract

The Mangrove Study Center is the development of silvofishery ponds with several types of mangroves including Avicennia marina, Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia alba and Sonneratia alba. This study aims to characterize bacteria in different mangrove cover. Excessive litter can result in the accumulation of organic matter and increase the degree of acidity of the waters in silvofishery ponds. However, the presence of heterotroph bacteria that are able to decompose organic matter in water has an important role in maintaining the balance of silvofishery pond ecosystems, especially in plots with a high percentage of mangrove cover (> 50%). Silvofishery pond planning using different types of mangroves is expected to give different results, due to differences in the amount of litter that falls and the content of active ingredients that are as antibacterial possessed by different types of mangroves. The method used is a field scale experimental with the parameters of the abundance of heterotrophic bacteria in waters and water quality which includes pH, temperature and salinity.From the results of the study, it was found that the abundance of heterotroph bacteria in silvofishery plots with Avicennia marina mangrove was higher than that of Rhizophora mucronata mangrove silvofisheries and water quality parameters that affected the abundance of heterotroph bacteria were pH, while the temperature and salinity did not affect the abundance of heterotrophic silvofishery mangrove in the silvofishery plot.

ABSTRAK
Pusat Studi Mangrove merupakan pengembangan tambak silvofisheries dengan beberapa jenis mangrove diantaranya adalah Avicennia marina, Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia alba dan Sonneratia alba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan karakterisasi bakteri pada tutupan mangrove yang berbeda. Serasah yang berlebihan dapat mengakibatkan menumpuknya bahan organik dan meningkatkan derajat keasaman perairan pada tambak silvofisheries. Namun keberadaan bakteri heterotroph yang mampu menguraikan bahan organik diperairan memiliki peran penting dalam mempertahankan keseimbangan ekosistem tambak silvofisheries terutama pada petakan dengan persentase tutupan mangrove yang tinggi (>50%). Perencanaan tambak silvofisheries dengan menggunakan jenis mangrove yang berbeda diduga akan memberikan hasil yang berbeda, karena adanya perbedaan pada jumlah serasah yang jatuh serta kandungan bahan aktif yang bersifat sebagai antibakteri yang dimiliki jenis mangrove yang berbeda pula. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental skala lapangan dengan parameter kelimpahan bakteri heterotrof di perairan dan kualitas Air yang meliputi pH, suhu dan salinitas. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa kelimpahan bakteri heterotroph pada petakan silvofisheries dengan mangrove Avicennia marina lebih tinggi daripada petakan silvofisheries mangrove Rhizophora mucronata dan parameter kualitas air yang mempengaruhi kelimpahan bakteri heterotroph adalah pH, sedangkan suhu serta salinitas tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap kelimpahan bakteri heterotroph pada petakan silvofisheries.
