Abstract
This study aims to observe the dynamics of Vibrio sp. abundance in the culture media and hepatopancreas organs of vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). Samples were taken from three pond plots (D7, D8, and D11). Bacterial isolation was carried out using TCBS agar media, both from pond water and shrimp hepatopancreas organs. The results showed that the abundance of Vibrio sp. in the culture media fluctuated during the maintenance period, with a significant increase especially towards the end of maintenance. Meanwhile, Vibrio sp. was also found in hepatopancreas tissue, but its appearance did not always coincide with the spike in the water media. This variation indicates that bacterial infections do not only depend on environmental conditions, but are also influenced by shrimp immunity and pond management. Increased levels of organic matter thought to play a role in supporting the growth of pathogenic bacteria. This study shows the importance of monitoring water quality parameters and overall organ health to prevent bacterial infections. The abundance of Vibrio sp. in the culture media in three pond plots reached D7= 3.49 × 104, D8= 8.69 × 104 and D11= 4.60 × 104 CFU/ml, with the highest peak in plot D8 in the 5th week. In the Hepatopancreas, the abundance of Vibrio sp. reaching D7= 145.6 × 103, D8= 86 × 103 and D11= 103.1 × 103. In the 5th week, the three plots experienced stable values with two dilutions of plot D7= 7.03 × 103, plot D8= 48.9 × 103, and plot D11= 55.8 × 103.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati dinamika kelimpahan Vibrio sp. pada media budidaya dan organ hepatopankreas udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei). Sampel diambil dari tiga petakan tambak (D7, D8, dan D11). Isolasi bakteri dilakukan menggunakan media TCBS agar, baik dari air tambak maupun organ hepatopankreas udang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelimpahan Vibrio sp. di media budidaya mengalami fluktuasi selama masa pemeliharaan, dengan peningkatan signifikan terutama menjelang akhir pemeliharaan. Sementara itu, Vibrio sp. juga ditemukan pada jaringan hepatopankreas, namun kemunculannya tidak selalu bersamaan dengan lonjakan di media air. Variasi ini menunjukkan bahwa infeksi bakteri tidak hanya bergantung pada kondisi lingkungan, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh daya tahan tubuh udang dan pengelolaan tambak. Peningkatan kadar bahan organik diduga berperan dalam mendukung pertumbuhan bakteri patogen. Penelitian ini memperlihatkan pentingnya pemantauan parameter kualitas air dan kesehatan organ secara menyeluruh untuk mencegah infeksi bakteri. Kelimpahan Vibrio sp. pada media budidaya di tiga petak tambak mencapai D7= 3,49 × 104, D8= 8,69 × 104 dan D11= 4,60 × 104 CFU/ml, dengan puncak tertinggi pada petak D8 di minggu ke-5. Pada Hepatopankreas, kelimpahan Vibrio sp. mencapai D7= 145,6 × 103 , D8= 86 × 103 dan D11= 103,1 × 103. Pada minggu ke-5 ketiga petak mengalami nilai yang stabil dengan dua kali pengenceran petak D7= 7,03 × 103, petak D8= 48,9 × 103, dan petak D11= 55,8 ×× 103.
