Abstract

Trisipan (Telescopium telescopium) consider as a pest in Aquaculture ponds due to it’s ability to develop quickly in pond media with higher organic material and can be a space, food and oxygen competitor for aquaculture commodities. Until now, T. telescopium eradicators consisted of chemical moluxides are still used in aquaculture activities in ponds. The used of chemicals in the long term can reduce the soil quality of pond. Therefore, we need herbal-based molluscides so that the quality of the pond soil can last for a long time. The Blind Mangrove stems (Excoecaria agallocha) believed by local residents to be able to eradicate the cultivation of pests in ponds. However, an over concentrations can be toxic to fish. Therefore this study was try to seek the effectiveness of sap in E. agallocha mangroves against T. telescopium in ponds. Mangrove sap with concentrations of 0, 200, 400, 600, 800 ppm has been given to 20 of T. telescopium rared in 3 liters of brackish water. The activites and mortality of T. telescopium were observed every 24, 48 and 96 hours. Based on the observations results, the Acute Toxicity Efficiency (ETA) of the sap in the T. telescopium, which shown by the number of LC50 at 400 ppm concentration of the sap on 24 hours of observation. Based on the Pearson Correlation Test there was a significant relationship between the sap concentration of E. agallocha with mortality of T. telescopium (r = 0, 809; P <0.01).
